Using the faulty logic of the anti-affirmative action crowd, we are lead to such absurd conclusions as, "white men were victims of discrimination during the civil war because they lost a degree of their privilege over black men." Indeed, the same arguments in opposition to the Freedmen's Bureau during the Reconstruction-era South are echoed today.
